Improving Work Opportunities for People with Learning Disabilities
The Right to Work Community Interest Company (CIC), based in and around the Havant/Portsmouth area, offers a new and exciting range of work related day service opportunities for people with learning disabilities. Working in partnership with local businesses we create sustainable and appropriate work opportunities for people who can and want to work, but require support to do so.
Day Services – But Done Differently!
Throughout the UK there are over 1.5 million people with learning disabilities, less than 6% are in work. This depressing statistic has far reaching repercussions, most often it leads to unfulfilled lives that lack choice, opportunities, challenges, socialisation and friendships, at worst it leads to a greatly increased chance of mental health illness. The Right to Work changes this, offering a great range of work opportunities; hospitality, horticulture, retail, art and enterprise. Through working within teams of like minded people, lives are changed, self esteem and confidence is raised and individuals have a far greater sense of fulfillment and well being.
